“Healing Hands” is a charity, which has been birthed out of a burden to assist men & women who are facing a battle of sickness, knowing that they may have to wait for surgery, specialist appointments and treatment. We believe people should not have to wait, and if unable to pay for private surgery or treatments these needs can be met and financial assistance can be provided! We all know and have lost family & friends through illness; and we all are aware of the emotional, physical and financial strain this can have on families struggling with illness.
“Healing Hands” achieved Charitable Trust status in 2008, and there are many examples already of how the charity has been able to assist and strengthen families in our local communities as well as on a national level. With public fund-raising and community events, public profile is increasing and though still in early formation, this vehicle is gaining momentum. Initially based in Auckland support has become national with many local trusts, businesses and large-scale sponsors getting on board.
One such trust working at the local level, currently seeking sponsorship for the Healing Hands cause in the Nelson region is
The Depot (Nelson) Trust, which has been operating as a registered charitable trust having been incorporated since 1994. The Depot (Nelson) Trust has become well known in the Nelson community for providing many services to youth, children and women and currently holds contracts in these areas. The Depot (Nelson) Trust are in the process of becoming an affiliate of “Healing Hands”. They are currently raising funds and public awareness for this very worthy Healing Hands cause.
As Healing Hands gains momentum, and as public awareness of a vehicle such as Healing Hands increases, more and more people will receive the life saving assistance that the community through Healing Hands can bring to them! Keep an eye on our testimonies sections for news of people's lives that have been transformed through the generosity of others.
