Each November, Hayman Park in Manukau City is the site of Manukau’s very own ‘Christmas in the Park.’ Celebrating Christmas in the Park provides Manukau’s families with a first-class Christmas event of their very own.  The event is timed to follow on from Howick’s Christmas Parade, and provides a full day of Christmas activities for the families of Manukau to enjoy.

For many years, the families of Manukau have had to travel into Auckland city for their Christmas festive experience. But now 'Celebrating Christmas in the Park', is bringing that experience to the people

The official evening programme ‘kick’s off’ at 6.30pm. A Celebrating Christmas in the Park evening features live music, cultural items and some well known national artists, including ‘Taisha,’ and local pop sensations, “Cydel.” in our 2007 event. Spot prizes are given away throughout the evening and at our 2007 event, included four Avanti bikes and food hampers. The central theme of the evening is celebrating the spirit of Christmas and concludes with a spectacular Laser Light Show at about 10pm.

The entire evening is an alcohol free, pro-family event, which is being sponsored by the ‘Healing Hands’ charitable trust in partnership with the Manukau City Council. Healing Hands supports Starship Hospital from proceeds collected during the Celebrating Christmas in the Park events.
